Manor Hill Brewery

Manor Hill Brewery is located just five-minutes from my home in Clarksville, Maryland, and is a wonderful farm to table product.


Located at the dead-end of Manor Lane off of Clarksville Pike (Route 108) and is open to the public from noon to 4:00 PM each Saturday.


As you drive through the entrance, you pass the hop fields on the way to the brewery barn.


Michael, Michelle, Mark and Mark say that it’s time to do some beer-tasting.


The various proposed varieties of beer are first tested in 10-gallon lots, with only the very best creations going to production.


The beer is brewed in this chamber and then mixed and moved into one of six stainless steel vats. The water used in production comes from the farm’s on-site spring house.


The various beers are monitored until reaching perfection.


Howard County’s Manor Hill ships to 100 local restaurants and bars.


Today’s beer menu included 14 varieties.  The two signature beers that Manor Hill cans for retail sales at liquor stores include Manor Hill IPA and Grisette Farmhouse.


We tested twelve of the fourteen beers and we each had our distinct favorites.


Michelle’s favorite was the Farm Fuzz Witbier with a hint of a peach note, as was mine, Michael’s was the Coffee Brown IPA, Mark’s was Citra Splendor Double IPA and Jena’s was Latte Milk Stout.


A great way to spend an afternoon, especially being so close to home.
