2014 State of the Birds Report
One hundred years after the extinction of the Passenger Pigeon, the nation’s top bird scientists from conservation groups and agencies have come together again to publish the fifth State of the Birds report. The 2014 State of the Birds report, compiled by environmental, university and government organizations, says that cats kill 2.4 billion birds annually in the United States. If you let your cat roam free, it’s killing wildlife. That’s what they do. Protect birds by reducing insecticide and pesticide use and by keeping your cat indoors.
