Nearly One in Four American Women Own Guns
More Women are Getting Firearms as Gifts
Twenty-three percent of American women owned guns in 2011, according to Gallup polling, up from 13% in 2005. Nearly 80% of gun retailers surveyed by NSSF reported increases in female customers from 2011 to 2012.
