The Capital Wheel at National Harbor

Dan and I went fishing today, launching out of the Fort Washington Marina.  We fished the Piscataway and Swan Creek.  We stopped by Washington Harbor, near the Woodrow Wilson Bridge (I-95 over the Potomac River) to see the new ferris wheel attraction.

The Capital Wheel is 180-feet tall, and opened on May 23, 2014.

The wheel has 42 air-conditioned gondolas and is open every day from 10:00 AM till 10:00 PM.  The cost is $15 per person and each gondola can hold six people.

The Marriott Gaylord National at National Harbor.

The wheel cost the Peterson Companies $15-million to build.  The MGM Casino Resort is currently under construction.
Why does National Harbor not cater to boaters and in particular bass fishermen, by building boat ramps and promoting docking, so that we could enjoy lunch at the Harbor?
